Ron Mumford is the author of one non-fiction book, Finding Your Soul Mate, God’s Way, one action thriller novel, Gray Justice, a screenplay entitled For Every Child (How Santa Claus Got His Elves) and a Fantasy trilogy entitled Wayne’s Angel, Betwixt, Z-Gen. He is the Publisher at 3rd Coast Books, LLC, (www.3rdcoastbooks.com) a hybrid publisher that specializes in Books-to-Film with many Film/TV contracts.
Mumford was a Journalism major at the University of North Texas, worked at two small newspapers as Sports Editor, an Associate Editor at a National Trade Magazine, and has written freelance articles for several newspapers and magazines. Later, after being drafted into the U.S. Army, he was an information specialist (Army Combat Correspondent/Photographer) receiving two Bronze Stars for his service. He also wrote for Army Times, Stars & Stripes.
Mumford started his own business as a Literary Agent in Houston, Texas. He went to New York and Hollywood to pitch his clients’ work and gained knowledge of the film industry. He took one of his companies public on NASDAQ in the mid-80s and was later a licensed financial consultant with Smith Barney and Merrill Lynch before starting 3rd Coast Books.
Mumford is a Bible teacher/Life Group leader at Lone Star Cowboy Church in Montgomery, TX, his church home. He is also an avid bass fisherman.
